Het is zeer moeilijk om exacte voedingen en toerentallen op te geven. Onderstaande gegevens zijn indicatief en zullen in de praktijk mogelijk moeten aangepast worden. Deze snelheden kunnen afwijken door de materiaalsoort, de materiaaldikte, de kleur, het al of niet trillingsvrij opspannen van de plaat op de machine, de machine stijfheid, het vermogen van de spindel, enz.

De opgegeven toerentallen zijn theoretisch. Indien uw spindel deze theoretische snelheden niet aankan, past u het regeltje van drie toe om de voedingssnelheid te berekenen met het maximum (of minimum) toerental dat uw spindel wél aankan.

Positieve spiraalfrezen zijn meestal te verkiezen boven negatieve. In sommige gevallen nochtans, bv. wanneer u niet over een vacuumtafel beschikt, kan een negatieve spiraalfrees helpen om de gefreesde stukken vast te houden, doordat de spanen in de freesbaan blijven zitten.

Bovenstaande frezen dienen om doorgefreesd PMMA te polijsten. Eerst moet dus met een frees met minimaal dezelfde diameter het stuk voorgefreesd worden, waarbij nog ca 0,1 mm materiaal
overgelaten wordt voor de nabewerking met de diamantfrees. Het resultaat is een perfect glanzende zijkant, die volledig vergelijkbaar is met een door een laser gesneden zijkant.

De opgegeven toerentallen zijn exact toe te passen. Het is belangrijk na te kijken of uw spindel voldoende vermogen beschikbaar heeft om frezen aan de opgegeven toerentallen in het staal te laten draaien. Vooral bij frezen met grotere diameters wordt het spindelvermogen belangrijk. |

De frezen uit bovenstaande lijst die 2 snijkanten hebben kunnen eveneens gebruikt worden voor het gleuffrezen van hout, karton, kunststoffen en harsen met een hoge densiteit. |
|
 |
Probeer steeds een zo groot mogelijke diepte in éénmaal te frezen, maar nooit meer dan ca 60 % van de freesdiameter. Met een frees van 4,0 mm diameter is het dus perfect mogelijk om 2,0 mm dik RVS in éénmaal door te frezen. |

Bij gebruik van frees 99165 (10970) hangen de voedingssnelheid en het toerental in belangrijke mate af van de materiaalsoort en vooral van de freesdiepte.
Bij een grotere diepte wordt immers bij gelijke voeding en toerental de omtreksnelheid van de snijkanten groter. Dit zou tot verbranding
of smelten van het materiaal kunnen leiden.
