Routing HPL

Routing HPL

HPL or whole kernel is often referred to by the name Trespa®. Trespa® is originally a Dutch manufacturer of fiberboards. There are other well-known names such as Resopal and Abet on the market. The correct name for this material is HPL (High Pressure Laminate) or solid core. It is made from high-pressure compressed high-quality paper with melamine resin. An impermeable top layer is applied on both sides.
HPL or solid core is particularly strong, resistant to all weather conditions, is dirt-repellent and has a very high resistance to bending and breaking.

Tip: When machining HPL, use a 3D entry of around 10°.
Lay the HPL sheets with the decorative side at the bottom so the positive helix of the cutter does not damage the layer when pulling up chips.

Depending on machine and spindle power, other values may apply.
